Audi lega il suo nome al Melges 20

[singlepic=1468,250,170,,left]Monotipia – Zenda – Cresce l’impegno di Audi nel mondo della vela agonistica, seguendo quella che è la propria inclinazione a supportare l’attività di molte classi del panorama velico, contribuendo costantemente alla loro crescita tecnica e competitiva.

Audi ha voluto immediatamente scommettere sull’ultimo e attesissimo monotipo firmato Melges, un nome che non ha bisogno di presentazioni, diventando il worldwide title sponsor della flotta Melges 20.

La classe internazionale Audi Melges 20 si affianca così alla sorella maggiore Melges 32, già protagonista la scorsa stagione dell’Audi Sailing Series, il circuito di regate in cui è confluita tutta l’esperienza acquisita in oltre dieci anni di impegno ininterrotto, da parte della Casa dei quattro anelli, al fianco delle classi Star, Platu 25, Mumm 30, Farr 40, IMS, TP 52.

With this announcement, the Audi Melges 20 International Class joins its larger keelboat counterpart, the Melges 32 — the star of the last season’s Audi Sailing Series in Europe. This regatta circuit, which continues in 2009, is a true culmination of more than a decade of experience and provided support to other classes.

Cohesive partnerships thus far have made the Audi Melges 20 a great success. McConaghy Boats, one of world’s most prestigious boat manufacturers was announced as the official builder and introduced to the global market place as designed by the legendary Reichel Pugh Yacht Design.
