Tag Heuer e China Team insieme per le LVPS

[singlepic=920,170,250,,left]China Team – Qingdao – Dopo aver annunciato l’ingaggio di un timoniere come Ian Williams e aver messo on-line un nuovo sito internet, China Team ha reso noto di aver rinnovato l’accordo di sponsorizzazione con TAG Heuer almeno sino alle Louis Vuitton Pacific Series, in programma ad Auckland il prossimo febbraio.

“E’ da tempo che vantiamo un rapporto di collaborazione con TAG Heuer e siamo entusiasti che continuino a credere nella nostra attività – ha affermato Stuart James, General Manager del challenger cinese – Abbiamo un nuovo skipper e un nuovo team ma fa sempre piacere veleggiare con qualche veccio amico. Ora, la nostra speranza, è che TAG Heuer decida di rimanere al nostro fianco ancora per qualche anno”.

“Siamo molto orgogliosi di far parte di questa grande sfida – ha commentato il CEO di Tag Ehuer, Jean Cristophe Babin – Quello con China Team è, in senso temporale, l’ultimo capitolo del nostro impegno in ambito velico, iniziato negli anni quaranta con il lancio del primo orologio in grado di calcolare le maree. La partnership tra la fabbrica di orologi svizzera e il primo sfidante cinese nella storia della Coppa America è iniziata nel 2005 e non si è limitata alla semplice esposizioni del marchio sulle vele di CHN-95. Nel corso della campagna valenciana, infatti, Tag Heuer ha fornito a China Team ogni tipo di supporto cronometrico e ha sviluppato una linea di occhiali da sole.

AC China Team is preparing for the next step in its historic America’s Cup journey, this time with 2007 World Match Racing Champion Ian Williams at the helm. Ranked Number Two in the world by the International Sailing Federation, Williams will lead the AC China Team for the first time at the Louis Vuitton Pacific Series in Auckland, New Zealand, in February 2009.

“We have always been enthusiastic about our relationship with Tag Heuer and we are pleased they decided to stick with us for the Louis Vuitton Pacific Series in Auckland, New Zealand,” said Stuart James, China Team‘s Executive Director. “We have a new skipper, a new team, but it’s always good to go sailing with some old friends. TAG Heuer has been the AC China Team‘s Official Timekeeper since 2005. In the 2007 America’s Cup it provided the team’s crews with specially adapted timing equipment, chronographs and eyewear.
