Primo Cup, in regata sotto la neve

Primo Cup – Principato di Monaco – Condizioni meteo paticolarmente inclementi hanno condizionato lo svolgimento della giornata d’apertura del secondo week end della Primo Cup. Una giornata che, secondo il programma dell’evento, doveva essere dedicata esclusivamente ai Surprise, per i quali l’evento organizzato dallo Yacht Club de Monaco vale come Europa Cup.

La neve, il freddo e l’assenza di vento hanno impedito la disputa delle regate previste e il presidente del Comitato di Regata, Thierry Leret, ha dichiarato chiusi i giochi poco dopo aver dato il via della prima manche.

Tutti all’ormeggio quindi e appuntamento rinviato a domani, quando tra le boe scenderanno anchei Farr 30, i J-24, i Longtze Premiers, i Melges 32 e i Platu 25.

[Source Primo Cup] The severe weather warnings call for the afternoon races to be cancelled for the enthusiastic and motivated 41 Surprises crews who had come to take part to the Europa Cup, the opening race of the second part of the 26th Primo Cup.

A first race was merely started by lunch time, Thierry Leret Head of the Race Committee, ready to make the most of any winds to start a race, has cancelled this run before sending all the series back to shore before the snow storm took over the area. The Surprises who had come en masse to Monaco, would have made the most of it by being able to train instead all morning. Tomorrow morning they will be joined by 7 Farr 30s, 20 J-24s, 15 Longtze Premiers, 20 Melges 32s and about twenty Platu 25s.
