Ibiza – Tight races on this second racing day of the super fast M32 catamaran fleet challenging in Ibiza. The day has seen stable wind for a total of 7 races.

We have experienced a very nice racing day – commented once back ashore Guido Miani helmsman on Team Neverland – the M32 boats are the right sailing solution. You can sail also with very light wind like yesterday and today, with the traditional monohulls we would have waited hours before the wind could increase, today we have had a great day.”

In the morning around 100 kids from 3 sailing schools have visited the village and enjoyed the catamarans, got onboard, got to know the sailors and learnt some sailing techniques, great proof of the attention for the island for this discipline.

Today a total of 7 races have been sailed, penultimate day in the Spanish waters, tomorrow big finale of the M32 Series Mediterranean.

At 2 o’clock pm the Race Committee has given the first warning signal under perfect weather conditions: shifty sea conditions and constant wind blowing 8 knots, enough wind to let the M32 catamarans race reaching up to 20 knots speed.

Also today, Ian William’s GAC Pindar, newly winner of the Scandinavian Series, has scored great partials (5,1,2,1,1,1,1) reconfirming itself as a very tough competitor to beat.

Second place for Richard Davies’ Section 16 (1,3,1,2,3,2,5) third place for Guido Miani’s Team Neverland that has showed great consistency. A step down Italia Sailing Team and the two Swedish teams of Cape Crow Vikings and Typhoon X Racing.

Once back to the M32 Village, great surprise for all teams that have celebrated today’s 1000 race. Great result considering this number only for the races that have been sailed by the M32s this year.

Tomorrow more celebrations will be happening with the final M32 Series Mediterranean prize giving.

Stay tuned!
