Sail and technology, Vakaros acquires Sailmon

Seattle – A statement from Vakaros: “We want to reach out to share exciting news for all Sailmon users, and for the sport of sailing. Vakaros, an American leader in sailing instrumentation has acquired Sailmon Instruments from North Technology Group.

You’re probably wondering what this means for you. If you’re a Sailmon MAX or MAX mini owner or user, it means the Vakaros team will now be your resource for support, warranty claims, and general questions.  If you own an ELEMENT display or processor, North Technology Group will continue to provide service through Synapse, a Future Fibres brand.

For all sailors, we’re excited to welcome you to the next generation of sailing instrumentation with the Atlas family of instruments​​. We hope you get the chance to experience a RaceSense event, where Vakaros race management software offers automatic pings, timers, and OCS calls among other features. This tech has been used in classes ranging from Optis to TP52s, and at over 15 World Championships in the past 12 months – and it’s headed to a regatta near you soon. This has been a months-long process and we’re excited to share the result with you all.
